A new environmentally and economically friendly project has been launched in Central Anatolia.
As the BAS team, we are proud to announce the start of the “Iron (Hematite) Recovery from Gold Mine Tailings Project”, a first of its kind in Türkiye. The project aims to recover valuable minerals from materials previously discarded as waste during the pre-enrichment process of a long-operating gold mine.
Following the successful completion of mineralogical and preliminary technological test studies, engineering works have commenced to process and recover over 15 million tons of tailings, contributing directly to the national economy.
Within the scope of the project, a comprehensive engineering process will include:
Particle size reduction of the tailings,
High-intensity magnetic enrichment,
Particle size classification, and
Truck loading operations.
The project will proceed through general and detailed engineering phases, followed by implementation projects. Once completed, it will become one of the largest hematite beneficiation facilities in the region, adding significant value to Türkiye’s economy.
With this environmentally conscious and innovative initiative, the BAS team takes yet another step forward in promoting sustainability and resource efficiency within the mining sector.
