Another BAS Drum Magnetic Separators for Middle Asia

Another successful dry magnetite beneficiation project was completed in Middle Asia  (Figure 1). The plant has been commisioned and introduced to the sector with 360tph plant capacity, D80 8mm grain size, %40Fe feeding, %54Fe concentrate and %12Fe tailing. The double-stage dry separators in this project benficiate the ore twice and ensure that the desired final grade is achieved. The correct magnetic field strength and other relevant parameters are tested, determined and applied in the field in BAS laboratories.

BAS Dry Magnetic Drum Separators (Dry Type Drum Magnetic Separators – BAS® (bas-tr.com) represent a cutting-edge solution in the field of magnetic separation, offering a water-free method to separete magnetic minerals from gangue. When raw ore is fed to the magnetic separator, the magnetic particles are catched by magnetic force and consequently shooted the magnetic product. Meanwhile, the gangue or poor intergrowth particles are not effected via magnetic force and are separated to the non-magnetic tailing chute.

In recent years, dry magnetic separation has gained traction as an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to wet magnetic separation. This method is particularly advantageous in reducing energy consumption during grinding and lowering overall production costs. Furthermore, its adaptability to arid and cold regions, like Asia where water resources are limited, makes it an ideal choice for such environments. By eliminating the need for dewatering, dry magnetic separation enhances the efficiency of material transport, thereby remove transportation expenses for remote processing facilities.

BAS offers comprehensive services, from mineralogical analysis to detailed engineering and turnkey project execution for the most cost-effective solutions in iron ore processing. Our expertise ensures that the correct magnetic separation methods are applied, tailored to the specific characteristics of the ore.
